HORIZONS steht für eine Traumwelt in Blautönen, wo Motive ineinanderfließen oder in tiefere Schichten abtauchen – ohne Bezug zur Wirklichkeit: wo ist unten, wo ist oben? Ist da ein See oder Meer, Himmel oder Eisberg? Wohin zielt die Linie? Ist sie eine Welle oder ein Windhauch?

Das Unklare wird durch die milchig-unscharfe Oberfläche des Wachses noch einmal verstärkt und gibt dem Bild einen sanft schimmernden Glanz – wie ein langsam verblassender Traum…

Die Mixed Media Arbeiten sind Collagen aus handgeschöpften Papieren, Fotodruck auf Sekishupapier, Tusche und Gouache, Fettstiften und Wachs – aufgebracht auf Holz.

HORIZONS evokes a dreamlike world in shades of blue, where motifs flow into one another or sink into deeper layers – with no connection to reality: where is up, where is down? Is it a lake or the sea, the sky or an iceberg? Where is the line heading? Is it a wave or a breath of wind?
This sense of ambiguity is further heightened by the milky, blurred surface of the wax, lending the image a softly shimmering sheen – like a dream slowly fading away…

The mixed-media works are collages made from handmade paper, photographic prints on Sekishu paper, ink and gouache, oil pastels and wax – applied to wood.
