Die Serie DREAM CARS – Mercedes 280CE verbindet die antike Technik der Enkaustik (Wachs) mit moderner Fotokunst. Neben der Darstellung eines Liebhaberstückes geht es auch darum, mit dieser Serie auf die Wertigkeit des traditionellen Handwerks und der klassischen Designkunst zu lenken, die es zu bewahren gilt – auch als eine Gegenreaktion zur heutigen Schnelllebigkeit und dem Verbrauch.

Der Fineartprint (Hahnemühle PhotoRag) wird im Stil der Photoencaustic bearbeitet, d.h. heißes, flüssiges Wachs wird auf den Kunstdruck aufgebracht und mit einem Bunsenbrenner in das Bild eingebrannt. So entsteht eine malerische Anmutung, die durch den Wachsauftrag eine besondere Lichtbrechung erhält. Die Schattenfuge aus Stahl ist passend zum Thema gewählt und rundet den Gesamteindruck perfekt ab. In addition to depicting a collector’s item, the series also aims to draw attention to the value of traditional craftsmanship and classic design art, which should be preserved – also as a counter-reaction to today’s fast pace and consumption.

The fineart print (Hahnemühle PhotoRag) is processed in the style of photo encaustic, i.e. hot, liquid wax is applied to the art  print and burnt into the image with a heat burner. This creates a painterly impression, which is enhanced by the wax application a special refraction of light. The shadow gap made of steel is chosen to match the theme and rounds off the overall impression perfectly.
